Here in Southwest Missouri, we truly have a 4 season year. Summer is hot and humid. Fall is crisp, cool and colorful. Winter is dark, dreary and cold. BUT… then comes spring! Full of hope, excitement and life. Days are getting longer and warmer. Daffodils push their way through the dormant soil and display their buttery yellow heads. The lean months of want fade away as the bountiful months of plenty approach.
Here on the homestead, that means new life. Whether it’s eggs hatching, new calves being born, or the first bit of green poking through the soil in the greenhouse, everywhere you look you see new life. And new life means hope. Hope of a bountiful crop of veggies to fill the glass jars in the pantry. Hope of trees full of fruit in the orchard. Hope of your favorite ewe having triplets. Hope of a little more laughter and a few less tears…. and a LOT less callouses this year 🙂
New life and hope go hand in hand. Just like new life in Christ brings us hope not only for today, but hope for tomorrow. No matter what joys or sorrows come our way, we can rest in the promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3
